Balans is an experimental display face by Thomas Breure where each letterform is constructed from parallel lines, giving the whole alphabet a striped, almost op-art quality. The geometric skeleton underneath is clean and minimalist, but the linear treatment turns every word into something closer to a visual pattern than traditional text. Strictly decorative, it works best in posters, album art, or conceptual branding where legibility can take a back seat to visual impact.
