Bitstream Vera Sans

by The Gnome Project

Bitstream Vera Sans is a clean, neutral humanist sans-serif originally commissioned by The Gnome Project for use in open-source desktop environments. Its letterforms are quietly refined, with enough warmth and openness to stay readable at small sizes in body text, UI elements, and web interfaces. It became one of the most widely distributed open-source typefaces and later served as the foundation for DejaVu Sans, which extended its character coverage significantly.
