Erotokritos is an elaborately ornamental display face by Walter Velez, with swirling, curlicue-laden letterforms that feel like they belong on a Victorian theater playbill or the frontispiece of an old romance novel. Every character drips with decorative flourish, making it strictly a headline and titling font where the intricate detail can breathe at large sizes. The name nods to the famous 17th-century Cretan poem, and the typography carries that same sense of old-world romanticism.
