Gyosho
by Joo Paulo Evangelista · Website
Gyosho is a bold brush face by João Paulo Evangelista inspired by Japanese semi-cursive calligraphy, where each stroke carries the visible momentum and ink variation of a loaded brush pulled quickly across paper. The letterforms feel gestural and organic, with thick-to-thin transitions that give it an unmistakably East Asian calligraphic energy. Best used at display sizes for headlines, packaging, or branding that needs to channel that raw, handwritten intensity.
