Liberation Mono

by Red Hat

Liberation Mono is a fixed-width slab serif from Red Hat, originally created as a metrically compatible alternative to Courier New. Its letterforms are noticeably more readable than the typewriter-era designs it replaces, with cleaner strokes and better-defined characters that hold up well in code editors, terminal windows, and technical documentation. The bold weight adds useful emphasis without breaking the monospace grid, making it a practical workhorse for programming and data-heavy layouts.
