1470 Jenson

by GLC Foundry · Website

1470 Jenson is a revival of Nicolas Jenson's influential Roman typeface from 15th-century Venice, recreated by GLC Foundry with a deliberately rough, inked texture that preserves the imperfections of early printing. The letterforms carry the warmth and slightly irregular weight distribution of Renaissance type, where each character looks like it was pressed into damp paper by hand. Best for editorial work, historical publications, or branding where you want the authenticity of incunabula rather than a sanitized modern interpretation.
