JSL Ancient is a bold, decorative serif from Jeffrey S. Lee that draws on the heavy letterforms of medieval and early print-era typography. The italic cut and thick strokes give it a sense of age and gravity, with enough ornamental character to feel historical without becoming illegible. Best kept to headlines, titles, and display settings where its old-world weight can do the talking.
