British Museum 1490

by Cloutierfontes · Website

British Museum 1490 is an ornamental initials font from Cloutierfontes, drawing on the elaborately flourished capital letters found in late 15th-century European manuscripts and printed books. Each uppercase character is dense with decorative detail, built for drop caps, chapter openings, and historical design work where a sense of age and craftsmanship matters. Strictly a display face, best used sparingly and at sizes large enough to let the intricate linework come through.
