Calvus

by Yann Prélat

Calvus draws its DNA from architectural inscriptions in Chaumont, France, filtering ancient Roman letterforms through Art Deco proportions and a clean stencil construction. The result is a typeface with dramatic stroke contrast, wide-set characters, and deliberate breaks that feel carved rather than cut. It occupies a rare overlap between archaeological gravitas and modernist geometry.
