Chausson CF

Chausson CF is a revival of Othello, a typeface from the Central Type Foundry's 1892 specimen book, itself likely derived from an earlier wood type design. The result is an extremely condensed, heavy serif with dramatic stroke contrast and towering proportions that commands attention at any headline size. Swash alternates on several glyphs add a layer of period authenticity that straight revivals rarely bother with.
