Iphis
by Cami McCall · Website
Iphis is a heavy condensed display font designed specifically as a title font for an LGBT advocacy wordmark, named after an androgynous figure from Ovid's Metamorphoses. Each character is built on a bold rounded-rectangular frame with directional arrows and cross symbols cut into the forms as white negative space, embedding symbolic meaning directly into the letterforms. The result is a font with a strong, unmistakable voice that works at large sizes where its visual motifs can be read clearly.
