OTL Checkmate is a chess diagram font that uses OpenType contextual alternates to automate board layout when typing game positions. Characters include outlined chess pieces and alternating light and dark squares, with dark squares rendered as diagonal hatching. The smart 'calt' feature automatically assigns correct square colors and piece placement, turning what would be tedious manual work into straightforward keyboard input.
