Rugged Type is a heavily distressed serif display font built on a blackletter-influenced skeleton and then thoroughly wrecked with ink splatter and eroded strokes. The medieval structure underneath gives it a historical weight, while the grunge treatment pushes it firmly into horror, metal, and underground territory. Best used large where the texture reads clearly.
