Shodo
by Yasuaki Yasumelt
Shodo takes its name from the Japanese art of calligraphy and renders Latin letters in the spirit of brush-on-paper ink work. Every stroke shows the loaded brush pulling thin and swelling thick, with ragged ink-bleed edges that make each character feel genuinely hand-executed. It brings a strong East Asian aesthetic to Western type.
