Sovereign is a heavy blackletter face from Chris Vile with a rough, weathered texture that makes it look like it was pulled from a crumbling cathedral wall. The gothic letterforms carry all the expected medieval weight and density, but the grunge distressing adds a rawness that pushes it closer to punk flyers and metal artwork than illuminated manuscripts.
