Ehmcke Federfraktur

by Peter Wiegel · Website

Ehmcke Federfraktur is a heavy blackletter face by Peter Wiegel, reviving the work of Fritz Helmuth Ehmcke, a prominent figure in early 20th-century German type design. The letterforms carry the dense, angular rhythm of traditional Fraktur with a noticeable pen-drawn quality, as if each stroke was laid down with a broad-nibbed quill. Best used for headlines, certificates, beer labels, or anywhere that calls for unmistakably Germanic typographic heritage.
