Torniello Initials

by Manfred Klein · Website

Torniello Initials is an ornamental capitals font by Manfred Klein, inspired by the engraved Renaissance letterforms of Francesco Torniello, a 16th-century Italian type designer who published one of the earliest geometric constructions of the Roman alphabet. Each letter sits within an intricately decorated square frame, giving it the feel of woodcut initials from early printed books. Built for drop caps, chapter openings, and display use where classical craftsmanship needs to be front and center.
