Wernicke Schwabacher

by Peter Wiegel · Website

Wernicke Schwabacher is a traditional Schwabacher blackletter by Peter Wiegel, rooted in the German gothic lettering style that predates Fraktur and was widely used in Central European printing from the 15th century onward. The letterforms are softer and rounder than sharp Textura scripts but still carry that dense, ornamental weight typical of medieval typography. Best at headline sizes for historical publications, certificates, beer labels, or any design that calls for authentic German blackletter character.
