Backyard is a blackletter display face by Måns Grebäck that takes the dense, vertical rhythm of traditional textura and opens it up with outlined letterforms, giving it a lighter, more contemporary feel than most gothic types. The medieval bone structure is still there in the angular strokes and tight spacing, but the outline treatment makes it read more as decorative than heavy. A strong pick for headlines, logos, and display work where you want blackletter character without the visual density.
