Cloister

by Matt O'Connor

Cloister is a neo-grotesque sans with a defining quirk: closed counters drawn from the influence of Genzsch and Heyse's Lapidar. Its underlying structure pulls from screen-legibility grotesques, making it comfortable at a range of sizes. The name carries a double meaning, nodding to both its anatomy and the COVID-19 lockdown during which it was made.
