Washington Text is a heavy blackletter face by Dieter Steffmann, one of the most dedicated digitizers of historical European typefaces. The dense, angular strokes and tight spacing are rooted in the German textura tradition, giving it an unmistakably medieval gravity. Best used for headlines, certificates, or period-specific design work where the weight and formality of Gothic lettering are the whole point.
