Redifraktur

by Jakub Stanski

Redifraktur is a modern fraktur blackletter drawn with a simulated reed pen, giving all strokes an equal, rounded thickness rather than the sharp calligraphic contrast of traditional Gothic type. That single structural choice transforms the broken-arch heritage of fraktur into something contemporary and approachable without erasing its character. Inspired by the Tannenberg cut used in German railway station signage through the 1930s, it sits at an unusual crossroads between historical reference and modernist construction.
