XiBeronne

XiBeronne is a blackletter textura drawn by Pia Frauss in 2005, inspired by a celebrated French manuscript of the early 15th century containing Gaston Phoebus' Book of the Hunt. The lowercase carries authentic medieval weight and rhythm, with dense compressed strokes and sweeping flourishes on the descenders that give it real calligraphic energy. Several alternate characters are tucked into punctuation slots, including a long s, ending forms, and a swash for word-initial letters.
